Why "Christian" in the title?
From Owner/Operator, Linann Teggart, MA, LPCC-S: "Christian is included in the title because honesty is a valuable tool in therapy and in life. My Christian faith is an inseparable part of who I am. Within that Christian framework, I believe that faith in Christ is most effective when it:
builds bridges rather than barriers towards others
strengthens our trust in a loving and holy God
provides freedom over areas of our lives that are destructive
separates and eliminates unhealthy shame from healthy guilt
emphasizes love over fear
encourages the acceptance of reality while fostering hope
helps us navigate our relationships with grace and truth."
Do I have to have "Christian" counseling?
Mighty Oak Christian Counseling offers professionally licensed counseling services for mental health and behavioral concerns that impact individuals, couples, and families. These services are offered regardless of religious affiliations, age, ethnicity, creed, gender, or sexual orientation. Spirituality and faith are incorporated into counseling only to the degree that the client wishes to have them incorporated.
